In 1848 at Seneca Falls, New York, the road to women's suffrage was put into motion. It reached its culmination in 1920 when the Nineteenth Amendment to the Constitution became law. But, unlike African American males earlier, the right  to vote did not bring with it the guarantee of equality among the sexes. In the 1960s there as a reemergence and push for equality for all.

Task:  In groups of 4-5 students, you are to research on of the topics below. You are to create a 5minuite presentation that highlights the key points for your topic. Think of the political, economic & social impacts of your topic on American society. You will need to include 6-10 documents in support of your presentation. These can include pictures, political cartoons, excerpts from speeches and other primary source material.

Topics

1. Women's Rights Convention, Senecca Falls, N.Y. and "Declaration
of Sentiments and Resolutions".
2. Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott.
3. Susan B. Anthony.
4. Alice Paul & the Nineteenth Amendment.
5. Flappers and Women in the 1920s.
6. The Equal Rights Amendment (1960s-1970s).

Assessment: You will receive a group grade, based on the presentation, and an individual grade, based on work submitted. Students are required to use at least two library sources and have at least one citation and one notecard using NoodleTools.

If this is your first time, read the other instruction page. 

2.  Create a Project.
MLA Advanced
Use a title that relates to your research. 

3.  Choose a Group Leader for your Research Project 

4.  The Group Leader will create another project which includes  the Class Period: 
MLA Advanced
Example: Period 1 Boxing Clubs and Training 

5.  The Group Leader will now select:
“Student Collaboration” 
“add/remove students”
Add Collaborator    Select “Full Collaborator” 

6.  Each research group member will now, on that leader’s computer:
Type in your Username for Noodle Tools
Hit “Save”
Do this until all members are added
The Group Project will now show up on everyone’s Noodle Tools Account 

Sharing  
1. You can put Citations directly into the group project
2. To transfer a Citation from Individual Project to Group Project
Open the Project
Click on the Citation
On the right side, select “Copy”
Select “Copy to Another Project”
In the drop down box, select the name of the other project

The Qualities of a Great President

Overview: President Theodore Roosevelt is considered, by many
historians, one of the greatest presidents the United States has 
ever had.For this assignment, you will compare and contrast
Teddy Roosevelt’s presidency with that of another prominent
president assigned to your group.

Factors to Consider:
1. Role of the United States in the world during the individual’s
Presidency
2. Leadership qualities of the person
3. Domestic Initiatives
4. Economic climate of the country
5. General Outlook of the county
6. Intangibles

Presidents:             
A. Woodrow Wilson
B. Franklin Delano Roosevelt
C. Dwight D. Eisenhower
D. John F. Kennedy
E. Lyndon B. Johnson
F. Ronald Reagan

Task:   You are to create a 5 minute presentation that compares 
and contrasts the achievements of the two presidents you were
assigned. You will need to find Six – Ten Documents that match 
up to the sixfactors to consider categories. These documents 
should be used as evidence to help support your thesis.

***After you make your comparisons, you should take a position 
as to which Individual you think was the better president.

Assessment:  You will receive both a group grade, based on the
presentation, and an individual grade, based on work submitted.
At least one library source must be used and cited in
NoodleTools along with a note card entry.
