Background to Holocaust Research Project 

During your studies this year, you will be reading The Diary of a Young Girl written by Anne Frank and the novel Night by Elie Wiesel. The Diary of a Young Girl recounts the life of a young girl living in hiding during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands in World War II. Night is a disturbing memoir of Wiesel’s experience of living in a Jewish ghetto and eventual deportation to a concentration camp. In order to truly understand what these two brave fighter endured we must also learn about the time period in which they lived and the circumstances that cause them to fight for their life. 

Task: Create a PowerPoint presentation which covers the topic your group has been assigned.

 Requirements:
The PowerPoint presentation must include at least 3 visuals. These can include film clips, pictures, graphs etc…
The presentation must be at least 5 minutes in length but not longer than 10
At least 3 slide should contain bulleted information
The slides should be organized in a detailed manner
Last slide should contain work cited page

I recommend making one person an expert on each slide so that your group will be able to present a detailed presentation to the class.

In 1848 at Seneca Falls, New York, the road to women's suffrage
was put into motion. It reached its culmination in 1920 when the
Nineteenth Amendment to the Constitution became law. But, unlike African American males earlier, the right  to vote did not bring with it the guarantee of equality among the sexes. In the 1960s there as a reemergence and push for equality for all.

Task:  You are to research one of the topics below. You are to create a 2 page summary of the key points of your topic. You will need to include five documents to support your summary. These can include pictures, political cartoons, excerpts from speeches and other PRIMARY source material. The paper should be in Times New Roman 12 point font and double spaced.

1. Women's Rights Convention, Senecca Falls, N.Y. and "Declaration of Sentiments and Resolutions".
2. Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott.
3. Susan B. Anthony.
4. Alice Paul & the Nineteenth Amendment.

Assessment: You will receive a test grade for this research paper. Students are required to use at least two library sources and have at least one citation and one notecard using NoodleTools. The assignment is due January 10, 2014.
